How is the taste of great quality wine differ than the bad quality ones?
I am not much of a wine drinker. So I don't really know and can't distinguish between the taste of fine quality wine and not so good one.
How about beer? How does the taste really differ between good quality beer and bad beer?
With most good quality wines the nose (smell) of the wine will be fuller and the colour is usually richer and there is no bad after taste, although you may pick up other flavour notes of the wine after swallowing it. As for better quality beers, its all in the taste, it won't have a watered down taste but really it depends on weather you want a dark or light beer, ale or lager.

What is a good wine to serve at a wedding reception?
We are just serving beer and wine at our reception. I am not a wine person so I need to know a decent white and red wine.
Barefoot is my favorite low-mid range wine. I'd go with the cabernet sauvignon (red) and the chardonay (white). Best wishes!
